Ngā Wai Ngaro Mental Health Inpatient Unit is a purpose-built healthcare facility located on the Palmerston North Hospital campus. Designed to provide a modern and supportive environment for mental health care, the facility prioritises both patient wellbeing and the day-to-day needs of healthcare staff.
Goal
The objective of the Ngā Wai Ngaro project was to create a functional and supportive workplace environment that enables healthcare professionals to carry out their work efficiently while contributing to the calm and considered atmosphere of the wider facility.
BFG were engaged to supply and install furniture solutions that would support staff work, consultation, and collaboration across a variety of spaces throughout the unit.
How We Went About It
Our scope included the supply and installation of staff workstations and screens, along with furniture for consult and focus rooms designed to support confidential discussions and focused work. Meeting tables and collaborative furniture were also provided to ensure teams could connect easily and work together effectively.
Staff breakout areas were furnished with tables and seating to create comfortable spaces for rest and informal interaction throughout the working day. This extended to outdoor breakout areas, where we supplied durable furniture solutions designed to withstand the elements while maintaining a cohesive visual connection with the interior spaces.
Throughout the project, our approach focused on delivering practical, reliable furniture solutions suited to the operational needs of a healthcare environment.
Turn Out
The completed Ngā Wai Ngaro Mental Health Inpatient Unit provides a modern and well-considered workplace environment for the staff who support patient care within the facility.
By delivering furniture solutions across workstations, meeting spaces, breakout areas, and outdoor environments, BFG contributed to a cohesive and functional workspace that supports daily operations and aligns with the broader goals of the facility.
