The collaboration space within the Business School was designed to provide a dedicated area for staff to retreat, collaborate, and meet with visitors. The intent was to create an environment that felt both professional and welcoming, supporting informal meetings, focused work, and connection.

BFG worked closely with key stakeholders to understand the scope and overall design intent of the space.

Our focus was on delivering furniture solutions that were not only functional, but also created a warm and inviting atmosphere. This was achieved through the use of

• Textured fabrics to add depth and comfort
• A cohesive colour palette aligned with the interior design
• Integrated greenery to soften the space and enhance wellbeing

We carefully balanced aesthetics with practicality, ensuring the space would perform well for daily use while maintaining a high-end, refined look.

The completed space delivers a calm, contemporary environment that encourages collaboration while still allowing for moments of retreat.

The use of soft seating, layered textures, and natural elements has created a welcoming and approachable feel, transforming the space into a hub for staff interaction and informal engagement.

The result is a highly functional collaboration area that aligns with the University’s vision, enhancing both user experience and the overall look and feel of the Business School.
